Workshops, Whittling and a Warm Welcome
Having had another half-term of sold-out children’s pottery workshops, we thought it would be a good time to let you know about our range of workshops coming soon. And you can check our latest news too.
Children’s pottery workshops
Our Potting Shed is currently available for party bookings on Saturdays throughout the year, and we run children’s workshops all week during the school holidays. The next holiday events are during Whitsun half term (from Saturday May 25). Each session lasts two hours while Mena guides children through the making process. Their unique creations are then left with Mena, who will dry, glaze and fire it ready for collection. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Spoon whittling for beginners
Pembroke-based wood turner John Blake is one of our regular gallery exhibitors. John will be hosting a Spoon Whittling Workshop in the near future, we predict these will be very popular so contact us to add your name to the list so you don’t miss out. No previous experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.
Weekly pottery workshops
Our ever-popular weekly pottery classes run for 3 hours every Wednesday (11am-2pm) and Friday evening (5pm-8pm). They are open to everyone, from first-timers to old-hands. You can book a one-off session or sign up to a series of sessions to take advantage of a great discount.
Our Etsy shop is back!
Our Etsy shop is back in business and doing really well! So, if you can’t pop into our Pembroke gallery – don’t panic – you can get one of Mena’s unique handcrafted ceramics delivered to your door! View her beautiful collection.
Get ready to welcome new artists
We’re excited to announce two new artists who’ll be exhibiting their work in our gallery this spring. All of our featured artists are local to Wales and inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
Rhian’s watercolours feature animals, wild fowl and flowers and her subjects ‘reflect the watery world around them’. She looks at the colours reflected in canals, lakes and rivers and uses them to create her artwork. The result is a vibrant and original watercolour style which has seen her shortlisted as Artist of the Year by Artists and Illustrators.
Rhian will be exhibiting from early April.
Stony Cottage Crafts
Makers of handcrafted fused glass jewellery and artwork, Stony Cottage Craft create their pieces in Pembrokeshire ‘with a pinch of happy, a dash of love and a cup of tea’!
A range of techniques are used to produce different styles and effects in a wide range of colours, shapes, sizes and textures. The fused glass is set or framed by hand, creating unique and individual designs.
